Jeep is offering its 4xe plug-in hybrid powertrain exclusively on the Trailhawk model. A 10.1-inch screen containing navigation is now standard on both the Overland and Limited trims. In addition, drivers can now add a nine-speaker Alpine stereo system as an optional extra on the Limited trim. There’s also an optional 19-speaker McIntosh stereo available on the Overland and Summit models.
Engine and Performance
The 2023 Grand Cherokee offers three engine options. You can take your pick from the 293-hp, 3.6-liter V-6 for an economical drive or the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 for 357 horses under the hood. There’s also an advanced plug-in-hybrid powertrain that churns out 375 horsepower by combining a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and two electric motors.
Whether you opt for the base V6 with standard rear-wheel drive or go all out for the Trailhawk model with its adjustable air suspension that provides 11.3 inches of ground clearance, you are sure to have a comfortable driving experience.
Fuel Economy
The V-6–powered models get 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway when paired with rear-wheel drive. The V-8 models come standard with all-wheel drive and get 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. In addition, the 4xe plug-in hybrid version earns even higher ratings with 23 mpg city and 24 mpg highway estimates. You can also travel distances of up to 26 miles on a single charge with the PHEV.
Interior and Comfort
Starting at the base trim, you’ll find essential features for a comfortable ride. Moving up the lineup unlocks luxuries such as digital displays and quilted leather upholstery. Folding down the rear seat unlocks 70.8 cubic feet of storage space. Additionally, this vehicle comes with two complete sets of LATCH connectors so that your little ones have safe seating on any journey.
Off-Road Performance
The 2023 Grand Cherokee is an off-road enthusiast’s dream, with some models offering a limited-slip differential that locks electronically to provide optimal traction on tough terrain. An integrated off-road camera provides visual cues to help navigate tricky terrain, while skid plates protect the lower part of the vehicle during more extreme rides.
