1. Go Swimming at Borge Park Complex
When it gets hot, there’s no better way to cool off than with a dip. Borge Park Complex offers Wolf Point residents the chance to enjoy a quality, outdoor pool, with slides, lifeguards, and plenty of space to splash around! During warmer months, the pool is open for free swimming from 1:15pm to 4:45pm, 7 days a week, with additional opening hours of 7:15pm to 8:45pm, Mondays through Fridays. Daily admission or season tickets are available.
If swimming isn’t your thing, there’s plenty more fun to be had. Visitors can enjoy tennis courts, baseball and softball diamonds, walking trails, and plenty of great spots for a picnic. Find the park complex on Powder River Road. Opening hours are from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week.
2. Take a Hike at Milk River Overlook
Looking to stretch your legs and enjoy a hike? There are few places better to do it than Milk River Overlook. One of the highest spots in the region, it offers stunning views of the Milk River and Missouri River, as well as the valleys and woodlands that surround them. A dirt trail leads to the summit, with information signs posted along the way.
The trailhead is located around an hour’s drive west of town in Nashua. Plenty of parking is available at this point, but please be aware the path is steep and uneven at times, so is not suitable for those with limited mobility. Be sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen, so you don’t overheat.
3. Go Fishing at Bridge Park
There’s plenty of fish to be caught in the Missouri River, and there’s nowhere better to cast your rod out than Bridge Park. Sitting just below the Lewis and Clark Bridge, this 40-acre park is sometimes known as Clark Fishing Access Site and is a favorite with local anglers and for good reason!
Visitors can hope to catch catfish, crappie, paddlefish, walleye, black bass, and much more. The park also offers a boat ramp for those looking to get out on the water. It’s also a popular spot with birdwatchers, as a variety of local and migratory species can be seen around the water. Located just 6 miles southeast of town, it’s an easily accessible spot.
