Spring might come late in Wolf Point, MT, but it’s always worth the wait. And with plenty of opportunities for you to explore the local area, it’s the best time of year to reconnect with the community. Here are some spring activities to get you out and about.
Saddle Up and Open the Chutes for the Wild Horse Stampede
You might have to wait until July for the Wild Horse Stampede rodeo centenary, but there’s an opportunity to get into the spirit early on the May 6. Held at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center on 304 Main Street, the Saddle Up “funraiser” will feature an auction at 7pm, as well as raffles for exclusive prizes and sales of promotional materials. There’ll also be hors d’oeuvres, bingo, and a volunteer signup.
Come on down and start getting ready for the summer.
Lion’s Club Pancake Breakfast
Spring’s a great time to connect and contribute, and there’s no better way to do it than with pancakes. The Lion’s Club Pancake Breakfast will be held on May 6 at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center from 6am until noon. You’ll be served sausages, coffee, and orange juice as part of this fundraiser, and it’s a great chance to mix and mingle. Tickets are $8, with children under 5 served absolutely free.
Wolf Point Area Museum
It’s been closed all winter, so a visit to the Wolf Point Area Museum is a great local spring ritual. Opening in the middle of May, this site at 203 US Highway 2 East has a huge range of artifacts to bring the experiences of early homesteaders in the area to life. And there’s plenty to learn about the history of the Fort Peck Indian reservation as well.
Open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, this museum is the perfect place to reconnect with springtime past.
Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana
Everything feels young again in the springtime, so it’s the best time of year to pay a visit to the Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana. Open from Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 3pm, there are multiple exhibits designed to give the kids a day to remember. From the 30-feet indoor treehouse and climbing-wall, to Jack, Flash, and Sophie, the tortoises and turtles, they’ll find plenty to keep them busy.
The museum is located at 512 Second Avenue South in Glasgow, so load the family up into the comfort of your Chrysler Pacifica and head on down the highway.
After a long winter, spring gives us the chance to rediscover Wolf Point’s best features, so make sure you don’t miss a minute of it. And while you’re exploring, don’t forget to visit us at Northern Prairie Auto Sales to take a look at our latest inventory.
