Does Your Car Need a New Catalytic Converter? Advice From Your Chrysler Dealer

Does Your Car Need a New Catalytic Converter? Advice From Your Chrysler Dealer

A catalytic converter has been attached to every car in the US since the 1970s. They're designed to remove dangerous chemicals from the fuel residue before it leaves the exhaust. In time, your converter can get damaged or clogged by fuel residue. If this happens, your Chrysler dealer can fix the problem. These are some of the signs that you need a converter repair or replacement. more Bad Smell From the Exhaust Once combustion is completed in the cylinders, the fuel residue and gases are released into the exhaust system. Once they arrive in the converter, the converter increases the temperature and pressure inside itself. The heat and pressure react with the precious material in the converter to change the nature of the gases. Carbon monoxide, for example, is changed into less harmful carbon dioxide. If you smell a rotten egg smell from the exhaust, this means your converter isn't working. The smell is caused by hydrogen sulfide, which should be changed into odorless sulfur dioxide. The lack of conversion could mean your converter is damaged, or your engine is producing too much sulfur. Our technicians will check the converter and your engine and fix the problem. Poor Engine Performance Your converter can get blocked due to carbon buildup. If this happens, the exhaust gases can't leave via the exhaust pipe. These gases will be drawn back into your engine. Once they're in the engine, these gases create a back pressure that reduces your Chrysler's performance. Your engine struggles to deal with the excess pressure. Your Chrysler will suffer misfiring due to the fuel-rich environment caused by the trapped gases. Your engine may stall as it's rapidly flooded with extra fuel vapor. The pressures in your engine can cause your car to shake as you drive, and acceleration will become difficult. Our technicians will check your converter and unblock it. Rattling Noises The converter requires a large surface area for conversion. The easiest way to create a large surface area in a small space is to create a honeycomb system in the converter. This structure is strong, but delicate as each piece depends on the strength of the other. If any part of the honeycomb is damaged, this will have a serious effect on the rest of the converter. If part of the honeycomb cracks or breaks off, you could start to hear rattling noises. The broken parts of the converter will move around as your car moves. These broken parts will damage other sections of the converter. We will need to replace the converter to fix the problem. If you think you have a converter problem, call us at Northern Prairie Auto Sales. Image by Wolfgang Claussen from Pixabay

3 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Chrysler Dealer

3 Benefits of Getting Car Financing at Your Chrysler Dealer

More and more people are struggling to pay for their housing and transportation, but it doesn't have to be like that. If you'd like to buy a safe, modern car without spending tens of thousands upfront, you should reach out to your local Chrysler dealer because they can help you access the best car financing deals available in your area. Let's have a closer look at why you should consider a loan from your dealership. more 1. You Can Get Your Dream Car Now In the past, people had to save up for years to be able to afford the car they wanted. But fortunately, this has changed in recent years. Now, you can buy your Chrysler in instalments, which allows you to access and use it much faster. Getting a loan is the best way of paying for your vehicle because it makes it very easy for you to create a budget for your family. For the duration of the loan, the payment amount won't change, so you'll know what you owe the dealership every month. Once you have figured out how much you're able to spend on a monthly basis, you can speak to the finance team. They can then find the best interest rates in your local area and put together an individualized deal that suits your needs. 2. Own Your Car Without Financial Strain When you lease a car, the dealer retains ownership of the vehicle, and you're effectively a renter. Things are different when you get a loan, which is similar to a mortgage because you own the underlying asset. That way, you have much more control over what happens to your vehicle, and when you've paid off the loan, the car is fully yours. You won't have to pay a fee at the end of the term because you drove your Chrysler more than expected or because you've accumulated wear and tear. Instead, you can either keep driving your car, which is now fully yours, or you can sell it back to the dealership and buy a newer model. 3. Benefit from Comprehensive, Fast Service Because every car buyer is different, we've created various ways of accessing finance. If you're tech-savvy, you can fill out our simple loan application form online and get pre-approved. If you'd prefer to speak to a specialist face-to-face, you can do so by either giving us a call or visiting us at the dealership. We can then determine which loans you are eligible for and put together a package. No matter which way you choose to communicate with us, you can expect to hear back within a few hours if you get in touch during our opening hours. There are many reasons why you should visit the dealership and ask about financing your next vehicle today. Most importantly, getting a loan can help you access the car you want immediately. Because our service is always fast and efficient, you won't have to wait around to be approved for finance. Message us now at Northern Prairie Auto Sales in Wolf Point, MT to book a consultation with our finance specialists or arrange to visit the dealership. Image by Tumisu from Pixabay

Chrysler Break Repair

See Your Chrysler Dealer for a Brake Repair Today

No driver wants to have the nightmare of mashing the brakes and nothing happens. Thankfully, good maintenance and fixing problems before they become serious can prevent this nightmare. As your Chrysler dealer, your safety is important to us. We would like you to know some of the signs you need to come in for a brake repair. more Brake Fluid Leak Brake fluid is an essential part of your braking system. When you step on the brakes, a signal is sent to the master cylinder that controls your brakes. The master cylinder will release brake fluid into the brake hoses. This fluid is pressurized and exerts hydraulic pressure on the calipers. These calipers sit above your wheel rotors, and they will close on the wheel rotors. The pressure on the wheel rotors will bring them to a halt. A leak in the hoses or from the brake fluid reservoir will reduce the pressure in the system. Your brakes will feel "spongy" when you press the pedal. The lack of fluid will slow down the response of the braking system. This is dangerous, as your brakes should apply almost as soon as you hit the pedal. Hard Pedal If you step on the brake pedal and there's almost no movement, you have a problem with your brakes. There should be resistance when you apply pressure to the pedal, and this resistance increases as you apply more pressure. A pedal that doesn't move means that either your brake fluid is too hot or the brake booster in your brakes has failed. The brake booster provides over 5 x the force you apply, making it easier to apply the brakes. This booster depends on a vacuum to operate, and a small hole in the booster will cause it to fail. Brake fluid that gets too hot through frequent hard use of the brakes loses its hydraulic ability, which makes the brakes more resistant. Our technicians can fix either of these problems, as we have the parts in store. Soft Pedal This is the opposite of a hard pedal. In this case, a very light touch on the pedal causes it to move. The problem with the situation is a lack of pressure from the master cylinder. Without this pressure, your brakes won't apply as quickly or effectively as they should. Two of the main causes of a soft pedal are an air bubble in the hoses or a fluid leak in the system. Air should never be in the braking system, but it can find its way in through even the smallest gap. The air will form a bubble and block the hose preventing brake fluid from passing through. A lack of brake fluid due to a leak will reduce the pressure in the system and make the brakes more difficult to operate. Don't compromise on your safety. If you have a brake problem, call us at Northern Prairie Auto Sales, and we'll fix it. Image by Gerald Oswald from Pixabay
