Chrysler Break Repair

See Your Chrysler Dealer for a Brake Repair Today

No driver wants to have the nightmare of mashing the brakes and nothing happens. Thankfully, good maintenance and fixing problems before they become serious can prevent this nightmare. As your Chrysler dealer, your safety is important to us. We would like you to know some of the signs you need to come in for a brake repair. more Brake Fluid Leak Brake fluid is an essential part of your braking system. When you step on the brakes, a signal is sent to the master cylinder that controls your brakes. The master cylinder will release brake fluid into the brake hoses. This fluid is pressurized and exerts hydraulic pressure on the calipers. These calipers sit above your wheel rotors, and they will close on the wheel rotors. The pressure on the wheel rotors will bring them to a halt. A leak in the hoses or from the brake fluid reservoir will reduce the pressure in the system. Your brakes will feel "spongy" when you press the pedal. The lack of fluid will slow down the response of the braking system. This is dangerous, as your brakes should apply almost as soon as you hit the pedal. Hard Pedal If you step on the brake pedal and there's almost no movement, you have a problem with your brakes. There should be resistance when you apply pressure to the pedal, and this resistance increases as you apply more pressure. A pedal that doesn't move means that either your brake fluid is too hot or the brake booster in your brakes has failed. The brake booster provides over 5 x the force you apply, making it easier to apply the brakes. This booster depends on a vacuum to operate, and a small hole in the booster will cause it to fail. Brake fluid that gets too hot through frequent hard use of the brakes loses its hydraulic ability, which makes the brakes more resistant. Our technicians can fix either of these problems, as we have the parts in store. Soft Pedal This is the opposite of a hard pedal. In this case, a very light touch on the pedal causes it to move. The problem with the situation is a lack of pressure from the master cylinder. Without this pressure, your brakes won't apply as quickly or effectively as they should. Two of the main causes of a soft pedal are an air bubble in the hoses or a fluid leak in the system. Air should never be in the braking system, but it can find its way in through even the smallest gap. The air will form a bubble and block the hose preventing brake fluid from passing through. A lack of brake fluid due to a leak will reduce the pressure in the system and make the brakes more difficult to operate. Don't compromise on your safety. If you have a brake problem, call us at Northern Prairie Auto Sales, and we'll fix it. Image by Gerald Oswald from Pixabay

5 Tips for Getting Car Financing at Your Wolf Point, MT, Chrysler Dealer

5 Tips for Getting Car Financing at Your Wolf Point, MT, Chrysler Dealer

Is a new car in your future? There are few things more exciting than driving home a new set of wheels. But once you've finished your research and your test drives, there's one final thing you'll need to take care of before driving off the lot: car financing. Your Wolf Point, MT, Chrysler dealer can help you arrange a terrific financing package. more 1. Check Your Credit First Before you set foot on the dealership's lot, it's a good idea to check your credit score. Your score is one of the biggest factors in determining what type of financing you can expect to be offered, and it helps to know what your score is before you arrive at the dealership. Buyers with the highest credit scores are the most likely to be offered a low-interest rate and other favorable terms. If your score is low, you might consider postponing your vehicle purchase while you work on improving it. If you can't delay your purchase, consider bringing on a co-signer or making a large down payment as a way of offsetting your low credit score. 2. Minimize the Amount You Finance Borrowers who finance smaller amounts represent less risk to lenders and are more likely to be offered favorable financing. That means anything you can do to reduce the total amount you need to borrow can help. You can get your total loan amount down in several ways, including by negotiating a great price. Steering clear of some of the optional upgrades you can have added to a vehicle is also a way of minimizing the amount you need to borrow. 3. Look for Rebates and Discounts Manufacturers occasionally offer special rebates and discounts on certain models. Rebates work in various ways, but sometimes they take money off the price of the car or are factored into your down payment. If a rebate is structured in a way that results in you needing to borrow less, it can help you get optimal financing. 4. Watch the APR In addition to your credit score, there's one other figure you should pay close attention to during the financing process: the APR. The APR, or the annual percentage rate, is the interest rate that will be applied to what you borrow. The lower your APR is, the less you'll pay in interest on your loan. 5. Make a Down Payment It's possible to buy a new vehicle without making a down payment, but it's not the smart way to go. Any money you can put down upfront will reduce the total amount you need to finance, improving the terms of your loan. Even a small down payment can help. Don't let the financing process stand in the way of your next new vehicle. By following a few simple tips and working with your local dealer, you'll be able to easily arrange a financing package. Make your way to Northern Prairie Auto Sales and pick out your next vehicle today!

This guide will look at some of the common warning signs that may appear when your car requires transmission repair. If you see any of these signs, head to the Chrysler dealer in Wolf Point, MT right away. more 1. Slipping Gears Let's begin with one of the most dangerous signs of transmission problems: slipping gears. If your gears are randomly slipping in and out, this could be caused by transmission fluid issues or problems with certain parts of the transmission system. Either way, it can be very unsafe to carry on driving with unreliable gears, so you should seek professional repairs for your vehicle as soon as possible. 2. Other Gear Issues You may notice all kinds of other issues with your gears if your transmission isn't working at 100%, and this applies to both manual and automatic vehicles. The car might hesitate after a gear switch, for example, or judder a little when you move from neutral into drive. The gears might also feel stiff or unresponsive, and all of these problems are usually caused by issues with the transmission system. 3. Strange Smells If it smells like something is burning under the hood of your car while you drive around, you should definitely get it checked out by a technician at the dealership. There are several possible explanations for burning smells, and one possibility is that your transmission is overheating and some of its components are burning up. 4. Noises You might also begin to hear some odd noises when your transmission is in need of repair. Many drivers report strange clunking sounds or unusual humming or vibrating sounds while driving around. If you notice a new sound, don't simply ignore it; get it checked out. 5. Fluid Leaks Transmission fluid is a key part of the transmission system, but it can start leaking out due to damages under the hood. If the fluid leaks all the way out of your car, you may notice a pool of red or pink liquid on your driveway or in the garage. You can also check for internal leaks by lifting the hood and looking at how much fluid you have left. If you suspect that a leak may be present, head to the dealer and get it fixed. 6. Warning Light Modern cars are equipped with an array of dashboard warning lights that can illuminate automatically if the car detects that something is wrong. Your car may even have a specific transmission warning light or message, which could appear in the shape of a gear or may just simply say the word "Transmission". Even the "Check Engine" light can be a sign of transmission trouble, so make sure to not ignore any warning lights as they appear. If you spot any of the signs listed above, it's highly likely that your car's transmission is having some trouble. Radiator Repair

5 Signs Your Car Needs a Radiator Repair in Wolf Point, MT

Your car's engine generates heat as it operates, and the temperature in your engine will rise. If this temperature is not controlled, however, the engine will overheat and can suffer serious damage. The radiator is a crucial part of the cooling system in your car, as it reduces the engine temperature and allows the engine to work optimally. Any mechanical part will, over time, suffer damage and you will eventually need a radiator repair. In Wolf Point, MT we can repair it for you. more Engine Temperature Is Too High A car's engine temperature rises for various reasons, including driving in hot weather and idling in traffic. Your car's radiator circulates coolant, which absorbs the heat from the engine and then releases it to the outside air via the radiator grill to reduce engine temperature. A consistently high temperature, however, suggests that your cooling system is failing. Blocked hoses, lack of coolant, or a malfunctioning radiator are some of the possible causes for this failure. A Broken Thermostat The thermostat controls the flow of coolant through the engine. If the engine temperature is low, coolant will not flow through the system. When the temperature reaches a pre-determined point, coolant is released to circulate through the engine. If the thermostat malfunctions, the flow of the coolant will be blocked, and the engine temperature will rise. Leaking Coolant A pool of liquid under your car when it has been stationary may be harmless condensation from running your AC or leaking coolant. Coolant is easy to spot, as it is usually green, pink, or yellow and sweet-smelling. A coolant leak requires immediate attention, as the lack of coolant in the engine can cause a blown head gasket or even a crack in the engine block. Radiator Rust A car's engine should never have signs of rust, as its exterior is never in contact with liquid. Damage to the radiator or its hoses may cause hot coolant to spray into the engine compartment. The liquid will dry quickly due to the engine's heat, but it will leave dark blotches behind. In time, these blotches will start to rust and may cause additional damage to the engine. Worn Radiator Hoses The rubber hoses attached to the radiator can suffer wear and tear and may spring a leak. The hose clamps can, over time, also loosen due to the car's movement. The cooling system is a closed-loop, and either of these issues will result in coolant leaking out and potential damage to the engine. All of the above signs are very worrying, but the good news is that your radiator can be easily repaired or replaced. Call our service department at North Prairie Auto right away, and our cutting-edge technology and expert mechanics will swiftly diagnose and fix the problem. Your car is a valuable investment, and we will help you to continue to enjoy it for years to come.
