The new Ram 1500 has an incredible eight trim levels to choose from, so there's plenty of opportunity to find the one with the exterior features that fit your needs best. At the base level, you'll find the Tradesman and its standard 18-inch steel wheels, variable wipers, and LED hitch lamp. Bump up to the Tradesman HFE if you want 20-inch chrome wheels. Both the Big Horn and Lone Star trims, with the Lone Star being an exclusive Texas variant, offer front fog lights and additional chrome accents. If you're looking for a more serious upgrade, consider the Laramie trim and its power-sliding rear window. You even get power-folding mirrors with puddle lights here. Meanwhile, the Rebel trim is more off-road oriented with its sport-performance hood and 33-inch all-terrain tires. At the Limited Longhorn level, the Ram 1500 gets a host of interior upgrades, but the Limited adds cargo tie-downs and a multifunction tailgate. Finally, the TRX boasts 18-inch wheels and all-terrain tires alongside LED exterior lights.

Pop the hood, and you'll find one of four impressive engine options. To start, this truck can be equipped with a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 305 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. Upgrade to the 5.7-liter V-8, and you get 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. If you're more interested in a diesel engine, check out the 3-liter V-6 that offers 260 horsepower with 480 pound-feet of torque. To max out your power, you'll need the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine and its 702 horsepower with 650 pound-feet of torque.

The Ram 1500's performance shines brightest when you look at its stunning capability. It features a maximum 12,750-pound towing capacity when properly equipped, putting it among the most capable in its class. The crew cab's reduced towing capacity can still handle 11,500 pounds. The truck's payload capacity can reach up to 2,300 pounds.

When you sit inside this truck, you'll find room enough for five people, though you can increase that to six with the optional front-row bench seat. Additionally, there's a standard 5-inch touchscreen with the option to upgrade to a 12-inch screen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also available.

Whether you're driving your daily commute or doing some serious towing, safety is the most important factor. Fortunately, this truck can be outfitted with automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available too.
